Why we like self-destruction? Vote with conscience

Of all the animals that exist on planet Earth, I think humans (of course we are animals too) are the only ones who have an immense desire for self-destruction, to ruin your life different ways, sometimes maybe it's just a taste for masochistic, or just because we like that others feel sorry for us.

But how we like to destroy ourselves? without trying to get philosophical speculation I think the best would be to give some examples:

• The person who smokes and drinks, you know that the end may end up with cancer or perhaps a case of cirrhosis, but it is doing, leaving aside the point of addiction (which is hard to beat), I think it is a slow way of trying to ruin one's health.

red thread legend

There is a beautiful legend china by which an invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place or circumstances. The thread may stretch or shrink, but never break.
